Guy de Chauliac
Guy de Chauliac was born in Paris France during the 12th century. He was one of the most prominent figures of his time. He was the in house physician for Pope Clement VI as well as his two successors. He survived the Bubonic Plague and then went on to write the Chirurgia Magna, which served as a surgical and practical medicine guide.

Christiaan Barnard
Dr. Christiaan Neethling Barnard performed the worlds first human heart transplant on December 3, 1967. Although the patient only survived for 18 days afterward due to an infection, this operation made Dr. Barnard one of the worlds most famous surgeons.

Rene Theophile Hyacinthe Laennec
Rene Theophile Hyacinthe Laennec was a French physician who invented the stethoscope in 1816. Through this new invention, he was able to investigate sounds of the heart and lungs. This instrument helped him to determine his diagnoses for autopsies. He was known to be the father of clinical auscultation and wrote many publications and clinical terms that are used in this day of age.

William Osler
William Osler is considered to be one of the most influential psychians throughout history. He became the first professor at Johns Hopkins Univerisity in medicine in the year of 1889. He was also considered to be the father of psychosomatic medicine. He published a textbook that was considered authoritative for over 30 years.
