Tobacco Day?

How come I was not informed about World No Tobacco Day being on May 31, 2009?  Actually, I am not so sure that many people were.  In case you hadnt heard, various celebrities and doctors joined up to spread the word about tobacco health warnings.  I think this is the greatest idea ever being that tobacco is responsible for the death or millions of people, and nobody is really catching on.  They have the Surgeon Generals Warning on packs of cigarettes for a reason.  Its not like they warn people for fun.  Doctors are very concerned about the amount of people developing lung cancer and a countless number of other cancers and diseases because of the toxins in cigarettes and tobacco products.

Being that celebrities have a way with convincing people, I think it was a fantastic idea for these two groups of people to join together and shed some light on a very deadly matter.  Even with people who do smoke cigarettes everyday, hopefully the message will get through to them before it is too late.  There are too many precious lives that are affected by the inhalation of tobacco products, and everyone needs to know that.  Those warnings on packs of cigarettes freak me out every time I read them, and then there are people that can smoke almost two to three packs a day and it doesnt even phase them.  Hopefully these doctors and celebrities as a team sent a message that will ring through peoples ears for a very long time.

Dr. Drew!

I have to hand it to television producers.  Whoever comes up with these reality television shows is completely out of their mind, or just completely out of any worthy ideas anymore.  When I first saw Celebrity Rehab, I thought it was just another one of those shows that would have a million seasons and people would get sucked in for no good reason.  Now that I think about it, it is a genius show.  Everyone wants to see all of these celebrities that have faded away going through a rehabilitation program with Dr. Drew, and see them make complete fools of themselves.

Dr. Drew is what makes the show worth watching.  He actually knows what he is talking about, but these faded out celebrities are just too whacked out in the head to fully understand what he is trying to do for them.  Dr. Drew pushes these people to their absolute limits, and I love it.  It is actually a very good deal he has going on with helping these celebrities get back to where they were before they turned into washed up impostors in the celebrity scene.  The used-to-be celebrities have the desire to achieve sobriety, and Dr. Drew is a great man for helping them even when they want to completely get out of dodge and forget the whole rehab deal.  I give Dr. Drew my full respect for doing what he does.

Plastic Surgery?

Now I have started considering plastic surgery.  I cant help it when it is being shoved in my face every time I open a magazine or turn on the T.V.  I get it, already!  Yes, Lauren from The Hills would look better with Heidis implant boobs, and apparently so would I.  I wish I could just call up some of these celebrities and ask them where they get theirs done, and ask if they wanna go out for tea time and hear all they have to say about their pseudo body parts.  There are a lot of questions I am just dying to ask them.  Sure, I can get my plastic surgery questions answered from the Housewives of New Jersey, but I dont think they know a fraction of what they top celebrities know about implants, tummy tucks, and nose jobs.

I just want to know what the difference is between a good plastic surgeon, and a terrible plastic surgeon.  I dont want to come out looking absolutely lopsided and spending thousands of dollars on something to make me look more womanly.  This is a serious issue for me right now.  I think I need to go dial up Pamela Anderson because that womans face is beyond flawless.  I dont want my bosom to be as large as hers, but everything else on her seems to be working and I want to know how she does it, and where she does it.  She would definitely be my go-to girl for plastic surgery inquiries.

Family Practice

Family practice and pediatrics go hand in hand in the medical field. Pediatricians specialize in working specifically with children and childrens medicine. As the child matures and grows into an adult they will begin to see a family practice doctor. But it is recommended that infants visit with a pediatrician for there annual check ups. Becoming a pediatrician takes years and years of studying and of course, a college education. To become a pediatrician you have to have a liking for children because, as a child doctor, those are the patients you will be dealing with. If you were interested in becoming a pediatrician there are some requirements which need to be met. You will need four years of collage, four years of medical school, a year long pediatric internship, and one year as a resident in a pediatric environment.

Finding a Family Doctor

Finding a family practice doctor which you are your family are all comfortable with is very important. Being comfortable and feelings safe when visiting a family practice doctor is very important. Just like pediatricians, you can utilize the Internet to read review on family practice doctors. Making sure you find the right family practice to trust with your families medical needs is a very important decision and its best to take your time and do through research. It might be a good idea to try different family practice doctors just to get a feel for them until you find the right one. When it comes to your family, you have every right to be picky.

Pediatricians

If you were looking to find a pediatrician for you child, there are many resources you can use to find the right pediatrician. For one, when it comes to family practice and child medicine who knows better than fellow moms? Taking the time to ask around with other parents and find out what parents have to say about pediatricians in the area on family practice could very well serve as a valuable opinion. Finding out why parents may or may not have liked a certain doctor could and should play a valuable role in your decision to find your child a pediatrician or family practice doctor. There are also web sites which serve as directories to help parents find the right pediatrician or family practice doctor for there child. There are family practice magazines which offer reviews and ads in the back of recommended family practice doctors.

Baby Born With Heart Outside Of Body

It is very rare for a baby to be born with the heart on the outside of its body. This has happened to a baby born in New Delhi, India on the Monday of last week. This happens maybe five times out of one million births that occur throughout the world. It is also very rare for the baby to actually survive these types of circumstances. At about one week old this poor child has a long road in front of him already towards a healthy normal life. He will have to go through many operations and overcome many difficulties as a child. All of these operations are very dangerous and life threatening especially for such a young baby.

Multitasking Having Adverse Affect?

There has always been so much talk about how the new generation has such an advantage because they are always multitasking. Now studies are actually showing that multitasking may not be as good for kids as people thought. It actually shows that multitasking is one of the reasons why so many people have Attention Deficit Disorder. When you are doing so many things at one time all of the time – your mind gets used to being distracted; especially with most of the distractions being electronics. You see kids going from the computer to texting on their cell phones or both at the same time while listening to their iPods and even watching television at times. How can their little minds handle all of that commotion?

Difficulty of Quitting Cigarettes

Why is it so difficult to quit something that is so harmful towards your body? Well obviously the first factor would be the main contents of the cigarette being nicotine. The probability of becoming addicted to nicotine is very high for most people. Even if you tell yourself you only want to experiment and try one cigarette, just one, it will most likely lead to another and another down the line. Even just the notion of quitting cigarettes makes it more difficult to quit for some. For others, smoking is most likely considered as a great stress reliever for them. Little do they know that smoking does not necessarily help relieve stress at all. It is most likely mental; they think that smoking helps relieve stress. Perhaps it is the inhaling and exhaling that smoking requires. In that case why not try something more productive such as yoga?

Dangerous Mosquitoes

People rarely think that those tiny blood sucking insects could be fatal but in fact they have the possibility of being so. If the mosquitoes that happened to be sucking our blood were infecting with any kind of infection – we would most likely have that infection directly injected right into our blood stream without us even realizing it. Mosquitoes around the world carry a multiple of different infections, one of those being malaria. We are all potentially at risk of becoming infected with this scary illness. Penn State University is in the process of developing a type of fungus into these grimy insects that hinders them from being able to smell and locate our blood.

Pressure to Look Beautiful

In Argentina, the pressure to look beautiful is an increasing aspect in the lives of not only women but also men. Due to the vast amount of people seeking plastic surgery on a day to day basis, it has become increasingly cheap due to the competition. People from other countries are starting to flock to Argentina just to get a good deal on a body part they need some work done on. Many Americans are starting to take a ‘vacation’ to Argentina when in reality they are taking time to perhaps get and recover from a ‘rhinoplasty.’ One out of every 30 Argentineans have had some sort of plastic surgery done on their bodies. It is also becoming popular for parents to buy their fifteen year old daughters breast implants for their birthday.
